We’ll keep an eye on weather as we get closer to the date! If we need to reschedule we’ll let you know as soon as possible! If we have higher than a 50% chance of Thunderstorms we’ll have to reschedule to ensure we’re safe.

Saturday, November 3rd @ 1015-1030 until Sunday morning @ 1030
Follow these directions to the last house and keep on going onto the dirt road.
2054 Moore Town Road, Rocky Point, NC 28457
- Take 40 West
- Take Exit 408 – for Highway 210 East, turn right after off-ramp toward Hampstead
- Take a right onto Moore Town Rd
- Road will turn into a dirt road, keep following, you’ll see Dead End, then Pavement Ends signs
- You’ll see a power pole, get ready to park!
- After unloading gear park across the road off the track on a diagonal.
- Keep the dens together, starting with the tigers closest to the cooking area.
- Tigers, then Wolves, then Bears, then Webelos will be toward the end and on the other side.
- Please see attached rough diagram of camping areas.
- Do your best to form a Square U with tent setup to allow a small den area.
What to Bring (Check Campout Checklist to be sure(attached))
- Sleeping Bags
- Mess Kit
- Toilet paper
- Water bottles
- Layered clothing for the night time when it cools down
- Small snacks for your group while hiking

1000- 1200 – set up camp/start Lunch (Bears will be doing primary cooking, but all dens and family are welcome and encouraged to help!)
1200-1:00 – Lunch
1:00 – 4:00 – Den Programs
- Hiking and outdoor adventures
4:00 – 5:00 – family time (set camp if not done in the morning)
5:00 – 6:30 – Dinner, camp fire prep
6:30 – til – Camp Fire – snacks, skits, stories, songs…
We’ll also be doing a flag retirement ceremony toward the end of the camp fire. Please understand this is a very serious event, so please be respectful.
** Parents – You all are also more than welcome to share stories or songs from your scouting experience, or life, for example a bear in the woods story. Please just be sure that it is age appropriate for our Scouts. Also – Please no politics.

- Patrol – Think of 3 Animals they’d like to use as our patrol! Remember – they’ll be making their own patrol flag, and we’ll have patrol patches. The Black Panther seemed to be a popular one: Example patrol patch:
- Pick 3 Electives they’d like to see us work on! We’ll try to do as many as we can, but I definitely want to do the fun ones first if possible! – See attached list of possible electives, and then look through the Webelos Book for more information related to those electives.

Scouts and Parents!

- Any small irreplaceable items you can bring with you
Clear your yard. Remove any objects hanging on trees or your home’s exterior, such as birdhouses and wind chimes — they can break off in high winds and cause serious damage. Bring inside anything that’s not nailed down including lawn furniture, trashcans, toys, and garden equipment.
Shut off utilities. Turn off electricity, water, and gas. Doing so will help prevent additional dangers including flooding, fire, and explosions. Keep in mind, you’re going to need the utility company to turn your gas back on when you return home.
Windproof windows and doors. If you don’t have storm-proof shutters, fit plywood coverings over all windows. (FYI, using just tape on windows is not recommended because it will not stop windows from breaking, just shattering.)
Protect indoor stuff. Move valuables to higher levels in your home to prevent water damage. As an extra measure, wrap electronics and furniture in sheets, blankets, or plastic drop cloths.
Gather up pets. If it’s not safe for you to stay, it’s not safe for Fido. Make plans to stay with friends or at a pet-friendly hotel — most emergency shelters will only accept service animals that assist people with disabilities.
Lock your house. Because crooks and looters take advantage of evacuations, lock all doors and windows and don’t leave house keys in an obvious place, such as a mailbox.

Webelos dens are for boys who have completed third grade (or reached age 10). Webelos Scouts get to work on the five required Webelos adventures and choose two of the 18 elective adventures that are shared by the Webelos and Arrow of Light ranks.
When a boy has done the requirements for an adventure, the Webelos den leader, rather than a parent, approves most of the adventures. For each adventure a boy completes, he receives a pin to wear on the Webelos colors or on his hat. After completing seven adventures, including five required adventures and two elective adventures, a Scout can receive the Webelos badge.
After he has earned the Webelos badge, a Webelos Scout can work on the remaining 18 shared Webelos and Arrow of Light electives until he finishes fourth grade (or turns 11 years old). He can choose elective adventures that may show him new hobbies and teach him skills that will be useful during his Boy Scout years. When he completes an elective adventure, he receives an additional adventure pin to wear on the Webelos colors or on his hat.
